Alternator won't charge brake, parking brake and battery light went on same time?
1991 Audi 90. Daughter was driving last night and battery light went on, brake
warning light and parking light went on at the same time. The alternator quit
charging and drained battery.
This morning I charged up battery and drove car home ( 30 miles). Car drove
and handled fine.
Changed out alternator with rebuilt tested alternator. No luck. Still not
charging and same three warning lights are on. Is this some weird Audi joke
going on to test my electrical knowledge.
Help. She needs to use the car Monday.
Thanks,

There should be a little "energizer" or exciter wire that could break and then
no charging, but usually the light would not light up........hmmmm
Still check for broken wires and see if you have power from the wires. For the
little wire to have power (less than 12volts) you need to turn the ign to the
on position.
Any broken ground wires or main wires going to the battery?
I cleaned up the mounting points (also grounding points) for my alternator and
I got a full extra volt coming from my alternator.
