Timing chain slipping issue
Hi everyone I'm new to this website I am having an issue with my 2006 Audi A6 I recently heard a slapping noise on the engine so I took the rear covers off of the timing gears and seen that the driverside tensioner was shattered.. plastic pieces of tensioner were broken and chain was slapping around on tensioner.. so I replace both sides but the issue that I'm having now is the driver side keeps slipping a tooth after I rotate engine clockwise.. the passenger side does not slip at all but for some reason the driver side slips teeth.... I looked at all of the teeth and they seem like they are in good shape.. I'm really not sure what I should do next but it's getting a little irritating because I have to keep retiming it after it's slips... they are brand new tensioners..help me out please .. I really don't have much money to take it to the dealer I'm pretty broke actually from this damn car..

Re: Timing chain slipping issue
It actually seems like the tensioner doesn't have enough pressure to keep the chain in place. I don't know if I should just time engine and try starting it ??I just don't want cause damage
