Default 2006 Audi A3 2.0T Intermittent Power

Hi Members,

I'm new to the forum and appreciate any response from members.

I have a 2006 Audi A3 2.0t with a FSI engine, I have a few modifications and have an issue that was present before any changes. Thought perhaps a remap would fix it .

Here are the symptoms to a 2 years long standing problem which plagues me to this day.

Intermittent throttle response and power which is directly related to the height and firmness of the brake pedal and/or position/selection of the climate control buttons.

When acting up: Engine throttle response is delayed and lack of overall engine boost, brake pedal drops an inch and then works. If you push the brake pedal at a stop, it will go to the floor. It seems to pump up a little , and stays at the top and then the power in engine is noticeably better but then slowly drops back off to the same condition. If you start changing climate control button to auto and to re-circulation it will also work back to full brake pedal and great power for some time then drop off again to the same condition. If you pull on the hand brake several times, the brake pedal start to become firm and full power is back for a period of time. Frustrating so many conditions.

When working: Engine response is immediate and it has great engine power and torque. Brake pedal is fully at the top and firm. Parking brake is firmer and does not pull up as far when there is a problem. I also notice the brake pedal is firmer after filling gas at the station, then will slowly drop down over time. Seems to work better when it is really cold out.

I'm not sure if it a brake problem causing a running problem or vacuum problem causing all these issues.

I have replaced a lot of parts in the vacuum system, sensors, tried bleeding brakes, the ECU light does not come on during these problems. The brake pedal is firm when the engine is shut off, indicating a good brake booster. I have taken it to two mechanics with no luck, not sure if I should start replacing any other parts.

New Parts replaced to help remedy issue
- Cams and HPFP (Recall)
- PCV Blockout
-Diverter valve upgrade
-Maf sensor
-Cam sensor
-Temp sensors
-Brake booster vacuum lines
-fuel system purge valve

Any help or thoughts would be great, I have had a few leads reading blogs, but the problem always returns. Not sure how to proceed.

Thanks for your time

Steve
