Question Mod: Parking lights

Just wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to activate parking lights on one side only like in Europe. Moving the indicator (turn signal) column up or down while the keys are not in the ignition is supposed to turn on the corresponding parking lights on that side only. Cool feature lost on us north americans. I wonder if it's more likely to be a hardware mod or if it's as simple as changing the country code in the MMI. Anyone try this or know anything about it?

Thanks

2005 C6/4F A6 3.2

Still waiting for someone to retrofit the facelift '09 headlights with LED's into the C6/4F model

Yup you can do it. If you turn your signal on and leave it on as you exit the vehicle and lock the car it should come on. If not then the country code should be changed to Europe and you would have it. Might have to Vag-Com the car though

Great news, thanks for the info. I've already tried doing it without modifications and it has been disabled. Glad to hear it's not a hardware mod. Though it begs the question, what else would changing the country code to Europe do/enable/disable? The car is obviously equipped with DRL's but are there other features they've "locked" us out of?

Anybody in the Montreal area have VAG-COM I could use? :P

Thanks for the info 1move

Thanks, I just meant I don't want to intentionally cause the DRL's to de-activate or something. I know from looking around different forums there are multiple countries to select. Just haven't found a list of the differences for my specific car for each country. I was thinking Germany since I hail from there and so does my (wonderful) car. I know they use the parking light option there.

Anybody in the Montreal area with VAG COM?

Thanks again 1move

Felt shy to start a new thread but this does have to do with lighting...

There's a product out on Ebay now that claims a step by step manual to "retrofit 2009 RS6 headlight to you Audi A6 C6 model with Bixenon headlights" with included part numbers and wiring diagrams. Says parts are also available seperately.
Search for Audi RS6/A6 C6 LED DRL in Ebay.

Anyone have news, is it legit and does it work?

Thanks,
Darren
