Hi,

I was trying to perform a Throttle Body Relearn and i don't know what happened but my car's not starting now. MMI is not turning on, no lights inside, when i turn it to "ON" position the lights in the cluster come on and needles start flickering up and down. There's a clicking sound accompanied with this. Lock/Unlock from the key fob does nothing, doors not unlocking.

Tried to do a battery reset but no luck. Car was running perfect before this except the throttle lag i was experiencing.

Now my glove box won't open too so i can't reach my owners manual. Can't try to do a manual disengage of the locking mechanism as i can't bloody unlock my passenger side door. ughhhhhhhhhhh

Here are my questions/concerns ...

1. Does anyone have any insight on this issue?

2. Also, Is there an online link where i can find the owners manual for a 2005 Audi A6. I can't seem to find it online. ((figured out today that it's not as easy as downloading my Infiniti manual right from the owners lounge for my G37)).

3. How do you disengage the gear to "N" in case i need to flat bed it to a shop?

Any help will be much appreciated.

This does sound weird, but I think it might be something electrical. But I remember hearing something like this and how it was fixed.

A wild idea and absolutely no guarantee, but I have heard some weird stuff like this being fixed by removing the positive and negative wires from you battery. Once removed, putting the positive and negative terminals on the wires together and hold them together (with tape) and let it be for an hour. Reinstall on battery.

Actually, for some reason it occurred to me that the battery might be dead. Called CAA battery assist, did a health check, and viola .... Dead Battery. It wasn't holding charge.
So i change up the battery (for some reason CAA doesn't do battery replacement on Audi's ... scared?? lol) and everything is running good now.
What i can infer is that during the TBC alignment, it drained out my 3 year old battery maybe.
But anyhow, the problem is fixed, and there's no more tip lag which i was experiencing. Loving the fact that none of my settings were reset. Amazing !!!

Right on.

I found that if the electrical system is faulty or some loose grounds, things can really act up and do some odd things.

I guess so ... still on the learning curve and trying to understand these cars .. they for sure are scary when it comes to electrical.
Now i have a permanent airbag light on the dash so something is messed up. Thinking of investing in a Vag-Com cable which will save me trips to a mechanic all the time.
I have been overlooking all these things cause the car is a pleasure to drive on long routes ... soooo comfy !!
