timing belt
My2001 Audi A6 2.8 is getting close to 182,000 kilometers. I changed the timing belt and water pump at 105 kilometers. The dealer says I should change it again but the manual says every 160,000 kilometers . Do I need to change it now or can I get another 20 or 30,000 Kilometers in
Thanks,

Re: timing belt
That would depend on what their reasoning for wanting to change it is. If it just because they think it's time then I would say no. The timing belt should easily last 120k between changes. If they are saying you should change it due to some kind of damage then I guess you probably should.
Just ask why and see what kind of response you get.

Re: timing belt
Thanks Rusty! I phoned our Repair shop. They said we shoud be good for another 30,000K
They were thinking in Miles not Kilometers and also taking into consideration the Arizona Heat which is hard on Rubber. This is not a factor for us since we are only winter residents. They said it's imperative to replace before it breaks as it will cause serious damage to our 2.8
Appreciate your quick reply
