Default P0367 Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit Low (Bank 1)

Hey just need some quick help. My 2002 a6 quattro 3.0 runs fine for about the first fifteen minutes and then after that, the rpm's start to fluctuate about two to three hundred rpm's. The car is fine when you are accelerating, but then when you get up to coasting speed where your not so hard on the gas, the car jerks a little (fluctuates about 100 rpm) not to noticable to passengers, but when it idles it is. i pulled the code P0367 Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit Low (Bank 1). I was wondering at first if it could be a coil, but no misfire codes read out. I talked to the service manager at my audi dealership and he said that the codes are normally accurate. I ordered a cps today for fifty bucks. any other thoughts and inputs to this people?... and where is the bank 1... (passanger side i think) and which one is sensor B... the audi people said there were 4 sensors total, and advanced said that there were two... any input?
thanks
Jacob

That engine has variable cam timing. That sensor measures it and send the info the the ECM. The ECM didn't like the position because of where it was seen in the MAP (ECM Programming) The Audi dealer should know that the variable cam timing actuators do fail. One other failure is poor quality oil plugging the oil galleries that are electric over hydraulic.

ok.. thanks for the help. I ended up just swapping the sensor until the problem stopped.. I noticed however that the plug that goes into the sensors had some sort of risidiual residue, coulnt tell if it was oil or water, or both, so i used carb cleaner and sprayed the crap out of them, i still have a check engine light on, but the car runs just as good as when i bought it, and i have my power back.
