Default High Temp in A6 2002

Guys,

I have an issue getting to bother me a bit. Can anyone varify if my thinking is right? The Temp is already half (90C) and the car was idle one night before. the outside temp is 45 F. Is it the heating sensor gone bad?? I disconnect the cable from it and the temp went to 0 meaning it's not the gage.

Please give me your feedback if you can.

Robert

90 is what my car always holds steady at...and every other Audi i've driven too....

Why do you think that is high/bad?

I was talking about above 90. like one line before full. but the water is warm and the oil temp is below normal or normal. it should be 92 C.

Thanks.

Thanks Pall, That was the issue, the sensor. I got it replaced this morning and things went back to normal. 92C.

Want to see how to take the fan belt out if you have easy way to do it.
What do I need to do to make it easy and quick. I have all the tools but want to see might be other ways

Hey guys are you talking about the OIL TEMP sensor? And the recall you mentionned, did it include 2004 Audi A6 2.7T engines?
