Coincidentaly (?!? spelling?) I found the opposite to be true. I find I'm 10-15 degrees cooler running Mobil, and castrol always runs warmer. BTW - You should be using 0W40 as per your manual. 30 weight oil will slip past your rings and ruin your cats - very $$$$$$.

I'll have to take your word on that... I have never owned a turbo. I have a 2.8 30v and a 4.2 40v, both require 0-40.
Interestingly when i first got the 2.8, i changed the oil with 0w30, and lost a full litre in 1000Km! changed it to 0W40 and now it doesnt loose a drop in the last 45,000Km

The owner's manual covers 2.7, 3.0, 4.2 engines.
2.8 is a different beast.
You might not know what was in (mineral?)before you switched to 0-40.
The fact is that Mobil 1 Extended performance (much more "full" synthetic than regularar Mobil 1) does not have 0-40.
Let's not start a discussion about oils...

Agreed there is nothing wrong with the oil temp in your pic especially during summer months.
I use Mobil1 and it is full synthetic although I can't speak to some of their newer flavors coined with names like new vehicle / high mileage / extended performance / etc. You can identify full synthetic by a reputable retailer price as you get what you pay for. A good price for full synthetic approaches $10/L and above.

Sorry to disappoint you. You have a problem and this is not thermostat. It is your coolant leaking probably through the pump. You can not see the pump as it is where your timing belt is. Do not even try to use any "coolant stop leak" because you will plug the whole system.
You need to replace the seal on your pump, the pump itself and when you do it the timing belt and tensioner as these parts are already eaten by the antifreeze.
In case you do not do it your oil temperature will be going up and up to 160 where you get warning lite and the engine starts to boil. By now your car developed air bubbles and you will not have any heat inside the car during winter. Check your heat now it is not as hot as it used to be - right?
