Re: HELP! undercarriage problem?
the best way i can describe it is imagine if you are looking at the car dead on from the front... now you look under the bumper and you see something that is headlight to headlight wide and it is hanging down and it scrapes along the ground when i drive it. it is right under where the engine is so i think it may be a cover to protect it from debris on the ground... it looks as if it may have been weighed down by the snow which i went through. anyways, one side is connected and the other is loose and dragging... if you need a better description still or if you have a suggestion for what you think it is i can reply asap

Probably the skid plate is what you are talking about it is held in by a bunch of clips which you can buy pretty much at any store that sells car parts. I would take one out or examine one and go purchase as many as you need and they just pop in and hold th skid plate up

Re: HELP! undercarriage problem?
The plastic Sound Dampener panel under the engine is important and you want to keep it secured properly. Some retailers like ECS sell a kit with all the attachment bits, else remove panel yourself and determine which pieces are missing and purchase them from your local dealership.
Fixed a friend's C5 A6 panel that have been snowbanked and tore off the two plastic edge pieces at the wheel well. Instead of the expensive panel breaking, the stock plastic rivets let go so I spent a bit of time in ETKA to get the part numbers and it when back together like new.
If you let someone else change your oil, tell them you want your panel attachment hardware installed as they found it and consider checking when they are done. Even at the dealership, you would be amazed how many people can't be bothered to put all panel hardware back in place.
