Question Fault in cooling system

hello, i have Audi A6 2003. today while i was driving, there was a red colour indicator "Fault in cooling system" was displayed. it was really strange as the temperature was ok i.e. 90 and the car was not over heating. AC was also working very fine.

can anybody suggest me what could be the cause of this indication ... Fault in cooling system ???

waiting for a prompt reply..

Regards,

ZeejDeej

Its tought to say its best to diagnose it with a Vag-Com if you can gain access to one as that will tell you what is wrong with it, could be a faulty sensor...to a number of things

Thumbs up Re: Fault in cooling system

thanks for your reply. if the car is not over heating and the air conditioner is also working fine at the same time. Does that mean that there is no major fault , could be some issue with the sensor or there could be some other serious issue and i should not drive the car with the alarm. kindly suggest.

in the mean time i will try to get it checked with a Vag-Com

Vag-Com diagnose , use it it will tell you where the fault actually lies , go on with it

Sometimes if you had oil changed at a generic auto shop, they damage the connector on the coolant sensor wire or forget to reattach it, but that will set the light blinking and it will beep shortly after you start if there's an open circuit.
or it could the coolant sensor is faulty (common problem) or worse -
Consider it serious until you know otherwise.
Scanning the ECU for fault codes will almost certainly ID the cause.
