Guys, I have something will drive my nuts. My wife's A6 2000 A6Q 2.7T has new issue just came on few days ago. All of the sudden; the brake light did not come on then as soon as you start the engine the ABS comes and stays on while the Brake flashing. now here is the tricky part you drive it for short time or sometime long time; everything goes away. when things goes away the ABS work 100% while with both lights it doesn't. I had changed the cluster before to another one fits 2002 but did not have any issues till this thing happened. I have the original one now and this is what I have.

Is there anything I should check??? Oh I have P1606 comes and goes. could it be the ABS sensors??

Please assist.

Could be brake light switch, a plunger under the brake pedal, could be stuck.

Yes, agreed. Common problem. It affects many other systems as well on A6.
