Exclamation Urgent!

94 audi a6 2.0 C4 has just died on my buddy.... it was in his shop for a couple of times to figure out the noise from the engine. It had a horrible knocking type of noise from the lower part of the engine, so we opened the head gasket, couldnt find the problem, opened the drain pan to check the pistons, again no cracks or anything that would cause the sound.... Sent the car back on the road... And now, after couple of weeks, it died and came back to the shop... what could be the cause? And where can i find the repair maunal for this engine? please help!

I know this is your first post but here is some advise. When posting a heading it would help being more specific otherwise some members might not even open it up.

It is going to be very difficult to diagnose the problem with such little info. So what do we know ..... bottom end knocking, car is now dead.

Some questions:

After the first time in the shop and checking everything out did the knocking go away?
If the knocking was still present why continue to drive it?
When you say it died does that mean the engine is seized?

Other here might have more questions before attempting to give advise.

As for the repair manual check out Bentley Manuals on the web.

Thank you for your reply with advices.
After we check for diagnosis, the noise did not go away. And the reason we let him go was that because there was nothing we can do and the vehicle owner wanted us to look for a new engine for replacement. And this was happened in south korea, i was just there about two weeks ago; while im here im trying to look for solution if possible... If not then, at least hoping to find a repair manual for that engine..

Hey! Where do u live? If you can, take your car to service plus car service center in Etibocke! They will definitively fix your car! I have had issues with my 1995 A6 before. They have fixed all the issues I had with my A6.
