Shopping for an A6 Avant

Shopping for an A6 Avant
Hello,
I'm new to this board and wondering if you could give me some advise on '06 A6 avants? Any issues I should be looking for, and where to shop for one. I have been looking every where, even the States, and have had very little luck finding a good used one.
Thanks!

There aren't too many available in Canada, and what are, are expensive. The US is where you have to go.
The best source of used Avants is the Manheim Auto Auction website. You need to be a dealer to login and to buy. It generally features all the lease returns, so you will always find a good selection. They are all inspected and have carfax. It also gives price history and lots of information that you will find useful.
As for issues, brakes, brakes and more brakes. Its a big heavy car, and in city driving uses up a lot of pad. Electronics, (MMI), can be dicey and expensive to repair. Other than that, they are a great car.
The fellow that I used to bring my A6 up from the States is Steve Rough of 'Buellex Holdings', here in Tsawassen. He charges a fee, which entitles you to browse the Manheim website. If and when you find one you like, he will bid on it, (using your maximum bid as a guide). If you win, the car is shipped, inspected and you pick it up.
(ok, its never that simple). But I am quite happy with my results.
