I had an '08 A4 with 18 inch all season P6 Pirelli's and ran them all year round with no real issues, (I live in Winnipeg). My latest A4 came with the 19 inch Conti's and they are not all season so I have ordered some wheels and a set of 225-50/17 Nokian Hakkapaleta R's for the up coming winter season. I have experience with the original Rsi's and they were great, the R's are the next generation so I expect they will also do well. I'll post an update when I have had a chance to evaluate them. There are plenty of good winter tire choices available you just have to decide what is best for your situation.
Any update?Have you installed your winter package yet, would it be possible to see a photo?

Actually have not put them on yet because I needed longer wheel bolts, the winter wheels are thicker than the OEM 19's where they bolt on to the hub. I will be back home from business travel tomorrow and will be putting them on. No problem posting a pic as long as someone can help me through the process. By the way I had to special order the bolts after market it seems Audi does not supply anything but the standard 27mm the after market ones are 39.5mm.

Finally sourced the correct length wheel bolts and mounted the winter wheels and tires and I have to say they are outstanding both in looks and performance. I'll get some pictures posted as soon as I can.

I just got a package from ottawatiresdirect.com (Corner of Scott Street and Parkdale Ave.) in Ottawa. The price is comparable to Tirerack.com minus the hassle of going down to Ogdensburg. I got Blizzak WS70 and so far so good. I guess I will know more once the white stuff arrives this week.

Nokian #1 = Expensive but simply the best. If your a terrible winter driver, these might save your life. Once you've tried them you can't go back but it's a little overkill since we have Quattro but still #1 hands down.
ExtremeWinterContact #2 = Cheaper than Nokian but still really really good! That's what I got on my car if that tells you anything.
Blizzak WS70 #3 = I hear good things about them but haven't personally tried them.
