VAG code cost for LED light stay on and remote windows, moonroof
Hi, A4 B8 owners,
I am currently owing a 2010 black B8 A4-6spd-Sline, recently got a quote for $50 (no taxes due to done by a parttime DIY guy), to fix the LED headlight stay on (when using turning signal) and also adding open windows and moonroof automatically using current remote (by pressing and hold unlock button for 3 seconds). That DIY guy told me he got the VAG cable and reader and he has the corresponding codes to add-on my B8.
Since my car is still under warranty, anyone of you did this before for you B8? Will it void warranty if I done this to my car? This is my first time owning an Audi/VW car, my co-workers told me that use computer to change the factory computer is very common and easy tasks for these brands, etc.....
Please advise and share your experiences, thanks a lot.

Yeah it is a pretty simple task, it shouldnt take more than 2 minutes. It will not Void your warranty, however if you do program the windows, and when you use them to close, it disables the pinch control so if you have anyone near the windows make sure their fingers are out of the way as the window will not come back down as it usually does. You can find guys on here also that have Vag-Coms by using the search button and there are quite a few people in your area that can do it.

I did it plus a few other things, for almost 3 weeks no problem so far, i've also heard it won't void the warranty. but depending on what u want to do it may take more than 2 minutes, but it is an easy task, as i've seen my friend did it once and i already know how to play with the other stuff

I just got a 2012 A4 and the dealer told me to get it done independently. I don't see any chance of it voiding the warranty, these are just country specific items, i.e. some countries have these functions enabled from the factory.

It is wise to run the Autoscan function before you do any changes. It will create a log of all your settings so you can revert to the original if needed. There is no quick "undo" button if you make a mistake and want to go back, so keep track of the changes!

Write your coding changes in a book. I've lost all my logs before from a crashed hard drive. Or at least use a back up drive.
