I am thinking of buying my first 2009 Audi A4!
Hey everyone!
I am thinking of buying my first Audi and just have a few questions
I have been looking at a 2009 A4 FWD 2.0L Turbo with 90,000 KMS for $18,000
The car has no claimed accidents and has gone through regular maintenance
Here are the things I am wondering...
Any problems on a regular basis?
Are the things I hear about Audi electrical being bad, true?
Any major things before 100,000 KMS?
What kind of maintenance have you had to do around 100,000 KMS?
How much do these things usually cost?
Thank you very much!

Typically speaking, many of us do maintenance outside of the dealership when we are no longer within the warranty period. I can't speak for the shops in Vancouver, but I'm sure someone can recommend a few reputable shops out west.
My 2011 has been reliable so far, but some common complaints I've heard are in regards to oil consumption issues, keyless door entry sensors, low speed steering vibrations, faulty control arms, noisy wheel bearings. Those are just a few that come to mind.
In terms of maintenance, I would say Audis on par with other German luxury brands and slightly more expensive than Japanese counterparts like Lexus. One thing to keep in mind is that Audi's service interval is every 15,000Kms as opposed to Japanese being every 8,000.

One thing most Audi drivers know is not to buy a FWD! The transmission in them is a nightmare and you are lucky if its a CVT that it makes it accross the 100k mark. If you are buying Audi buy quattro or dont buy at all! You will regret your decision a million times over.

If you look through this forum, 2009 A4's have huge issues. This is my second Audi, I bought an 09, and I seriously regret it.
