np... glad to help out. as for oil change for me is about $145bux at the stealship tax in. im in ontairo as well. as for the front brakes i changed them for the squealing issue i was having because the high metallic content in the pads.. if they dont squeal for you then you should get 80,000 out of them. the front pads are hawks pro ceramics with install.. mind you i have a buddy who installed at a different dealership.. so i paid 220 and these come with the sensors in them.
my summer tires i got are about 160 each for 19's for good summer tires that are comparable to Michelin p2 for 100bux less! i cant answer price on winters as i dont have any yet. will be the first time to buy them in about 2-3 weeks i figure.
when you have warranty its audi warranty. you can go to any dealership. just imagine if it didnt and you were 5000kms away from home on vacation and you had to have service at that one shop what the tow truck fee would be! lol

This means that I will have the remainder of the factory warranty and will also buy the extended one for additional two years or upto 120K Km. This means that I have to do all the services with the dealer to keep the warranty in effect. I am hearing that the older 1.8T engines do have issues and the new ones seem to be fine. Some of you really scared me off, but that is OK as I would like to know the truth anyways.

audimontreal: I think I am in the same boat as you were before, drove Civic Si, Nissan 240SX, CRV etc. and want to upgrade to a premium vehicle.

PhinX404: I like your comments because they didn't scare me As I said before, if I buy the extended warranty I will be forced to service with the dealer. I think an oil change may cost about $200 (CDN). Do you know how much the breaks and tires cost? Just to get an idea.
Another question is that if I buy an extended warranty from one dealer, do I have to go to the same dealer to get the service or can I go anywhere? The A4 comes with scheduled maintenance included during the warranty period. The reason is that the dealer close to my home is pricing the A4 at least $2K more than the one that is about 60Km away.

thanks!

Once again it depends what you value most!
If you want to be rational you cannot go wrong with the G37X loaded to the teeth with crazy performance...but it lacks the Greman cache and tight backseets/unfoldable

TSX is another good value but basically a Honda Accord with some goddies
BMW is for pure driving dynamics but lacks interior ergonomics...

You do get what you pay for and no matter what brand you choose it all comes down to vehicle history and proper maintenance

There is no doubt that you guys helped me here, at least to understand some costs. I was debating between the Japanese luxury and the German ones. To me, the price of these vehicles are more or less the same (e.g IS 250 AWD and A4 or 328i), then why should I go with Japanese? A lot of people were saying the Japanese ones are cheaper to maintain and that prompted all these questions from me. It looks like even the maintenance costs are more or less the same for German and Jap luxury cars anyways. I prefer German ones if the costs are the same or even a little more.

Thanks for your help guys.

You bet ya!

The specs for Japs are so impressive at first with all these horsepower and torque. The problem is that the max torque is not where it should be. They overheat the oil quickly and lose 30% of power that way. I pass them uphill like a red bullet to their disbelief. After all dealer told them that they were purchasing a performance vehicle.
