HELP!!!!! Made a mistake
Hi Guys - did something REALLY stupid.
So my engine oil light came on yesterday. Called the dealer, he said to fill up with 1 Litre of Castrol 5W40 oil.
When I opened the bottle of engine oil, i accidentally ripped and dropped a small piece of the thing aluminum sealing from around the lip of the bottle into the bottle. Thinking I could catch the small piece while pouring it in to the engine, I began to pour. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get the little piece of aluminum seal and it wend down in with the oil. When I mean little, it was about 2 cm wide by about 1 cm long. It's super thin...
Tell me I'm not totally screwed. I did turn on the engine and let it run for a few minutes....

Re: HELP!!!!! Made a mistake
I doubt it's real aluminum, but I wonder what if it would melt if it was real aluminum.
In all honesty, what's happened has happened. It's a 2009 A4 - if something bad happens, then just claim it under warranty! - I mean...ahem, I mean...

Re: HELP!!!!! Made a mistake
He won't be able to once the dealership checks this forum and cross-references it with his IP address. Oh wait...most people don't do that. I should stop giving out ideas.
