Default DV for '09 A4 2.0 (Avant)

Does anyone have any idea if the stock DV has been changed in the '09 A4's from previous 2.0T's? I'm planning on adding a GIAC software upgrade in the Spring (after working the car in) and was wondering if the stock DV needed to be upgraded to handle the extra boost and eliminate increased possibiilty of compressor surge.

Also, I see a bunch of people using Forge DV's.....has anyone tried the Synchronic?

I too am wondering about this. I will soon take delivery of my B8 6MT and in the spring will get the GIAC tune.

if im not mistaken the DV on the 09 is still the 710P which would need to be changed if you chip it. You can go to the 710N which is still an OEM PART. As for the forge, it has a good reliability amongst audi users. Never heard of the synchronic. Depends on the cost i guess if you want to test that one over another.

Personaly, i blew up the 710P before i was even chipped and had to change to the 710N and then got chipped and it holds very very well.

Thanks for the input. Would you say the 710N is audible without an intake? I really like the way they sound when combined with an intake, I was checking out some youtube vids haha. How easy are they to install for a DIY. I'm quite new to Audi and don't have a clue about how they're layed out.

Lets say I wanted to get an aftermarket DV, looks like the Forged ones are good but which model fits the B8 or are they still in development?

the 710N you will definitly hear with an intake and very much so with the car chipped!

The audi is layed out so that the air is recirculated. i would not recomend getting a BOV. some have done it with no problems. Some have gotten a hybrid valve and it too has worked. Your car, your call. But with an intake you will hear it. as for the forged, i dont see why the forge valve for the B5/B6 would not work for the B7 as its running the same boost. Send forge a quick email, imsure they will give you a valid response.

Good luck and ask away. i will do my best to answer any questions for you.

Thanks a lot for the answers!

Actually, I just read on audizine that the B8 should be equipped with a new DV. 710D. Let's see how this part holds up.

New OEM DV 06H 145 710 D - Diaphragm Removed! - Audizine Forums

I'm so anxious about getting the B8, should arrive this week or next week!

it also looks like it is bolted on rather then the old clamp on style. I wonder if the old 710N would even work for your car.

ESE Tuning actually lists the B8 as a compatible car for the Forge DV.

ESE Tuning - Forge Motorsport - Replacement Vacuum operated Valve for VAG 2.0T FSI (POLISHED)

I'm sure there will be a bunch of gear coming to market in the spring for the B8 platform. It's just so new and I'm sure the R&D dollars are getting a little tighter with the tuning companies these days.
