Default Does A4 2009 have Tire Pressure Monitoring Pressure (TPMS) ?

I cannot find any reference to that? It seems it standard on the us model, but on the canadian model, I cannot find any.

I went over the manual, it not clear either. but I believe the saleman said it has it.

can anyone confirm?

Thanks

I thought mine did, but when I took the tires off the rims (to put a set of winter tires on them), there was nothing.
I have the 09 A4 Premium with the Tech package and B&O sound system.

thanks, after a few calls, the 09 canadian model does not have it, unless the TPMS option is ordered from the factory in germany.

sadly the US model have it as standard equipment. guess I have to put run flat tire for the summer.

I have almost the same car as you with the same color, I just have the drive select added.

you are better off with out that Tire pressure monitoring feature, because it often triggers an error which would light up the check tire pressure indicator, when one's tire is fully inflated.

I looked at a new B8 A4 today and the dealer pointed out the location of the TPMS. I mentioned this post, and they said that all 2009 Audi's are coming over with TPMS. It's illegal not to provide the feature. It ties directly into the MMI interface and alerts when pressure falls below 9lbs.

Quoted for truth. TPMS has been standard on all cars since 2008 ( quite possibly 2007 ) because it became law in Canada (probably other countries as well ), to have all new vehicles equipped with TPMS.

To AP24, if you switched rubber, but never switched wheels, the TPMS would not have sensed an error if the new tires were properley inflated. Although on my BMW whenever you switch wheels, or tires, or adjust pressure, you have to scroll through the I-drive to reset. Maybe search the mmi, for the settings? Also you may have not witnessed any sensors, because it could be an ABS activated system like in the BMW?? There ar no sensors present, but definitley TPMS is functional.

From my personal experience: 08 TT, 07 RS4 and 09 TTS all alert with a warning at a loss of 3 lbs. I've also read that there is another "level" of warning at a 6 lb. loss.

This is a huge PITA when the temperature changes significantly. You can adjust the pressure in the tires and then reset the sensors, but you have to do that with any significant temperature change.

Have fun.

I never really expierience that problem. I know on my Escalade, when the temp dips, the monitors go crazy, but after driving for a few minutes, everything is good to go. My former Audi's never a problem. Probably because it is parked inside overnight, where as the truck sits curbside? Although at work sometimes the car ( if I am brave enough to take it ) sits for 8 hours or more, and still never saw a problem. Must have been lucky? Hopefully the luck sticks for the TTS , but now I won't get scared if it does go wacky with temperature differences.

hmm I called a few dealers in the montreal area, and the TPMS is not in it, the US model is standard.

if you read the users manual, if you really have TPMS, then in the MMI, you would have an option to reset the tire pressure to the current one. I don't have that in my car or anycar that the dealer show me.

moreover in the manual, it clearly state that TMPS is in option.

they (dealer) said pretty much have to order from the factory, about $500.

maybe the canadian model have it, but the model in quebec does not.

and if you read the spec (brochure) from audi canada, it never mention such things, where the US said it's standard

UK and Canadian cars use the wheel sensors instead of TPMS. A tire with low pressure will rotate at a different speed - the wheel sensors detect this. If you change the tire pressures you have to change the setting in the MMI.
