I am in talks with a law office in Ottawa willing to open a Canada wide class action case against Audi Canada for Oil burning or consumption.

Audi of America has recently settled in a class action suit with our southern neighbours (USA) to the tune of over 23 million dollars. Even covering the cost of previous engine work done to Audi engines at Audi dealerships.

The issue, as many of you know, lies in the piston rings being incorrect from the factory. Audi has known this since 2008. It is a world wide problem
There is a new design for piston rings, pistons, and connecting rods for the CAEB engine.

If you have a CAEB 2.0 engine burning oil , 1 liter per 1000kms - give or take.
If you paid out of pocket for the oil consumption test part 1 or 2 you could also be reimbursed. Please contact me through audi forum.ca, if you want more info.

I have many links as well as the legal documents for the case that closed this past October 2014.

I am helping the law office build a plaintiff list. This is a class action suit with hundred or potentially thousands of plaintiffs, there will be no upfront cost to anyone, just information sent to the law office, not to me.
To fins out if your engine is the CAEB you can call your local dealer with your VIN#.

I will happily pass you the information of the law office, or vice versa, I am happy to act as a middle man.
Many of us have been living with this problem for far too long. We paid a premium for the Audi name and its heritage and its far time Audi correct this issue.

Maryus, you should certainly register @ a4b8oil.com so you can be up-to-date with any class action movements in Canada. Same engine, yes?

Hi

I have the same issue going back to 2009 when I purchased the car new.
oil consumption test were completed and audi said it was fine. I'm adding oil every 2k

ongoing issues since new:

add oil at lights comes on, added the 1 litre of oil, good for 100kms then add oil comes back on. added another 1 litre.

shut off engine and check oil lights come on. (how do you check your oil if there is no dip stick!) then the engine light and epc lights comes on.

Dealer changed the sensor under the hood, and told me it was a faulty switch.
They topoed up the oil, next time the lights all go on I bring it back to the dealer, they change some items in the engine, I think it had something to do with the cam and valves. this was in 2014

early Jan 2015 oil light comes on, add 1 litre and it still needs another liter. put second litre in
drive less than 100kms all the same warnings come back.

took it to the dealer - they replaced timing chain camshaft tensioner some seals and brackets and crankcase breather

Great cars going to be fixed finally. Picked up the car and drove less than 15 kms and all the lights are back in.

next day I brought the car back to the dealer and they still have it. They now think its a screen that's in the oil pan that's has sluggish oil stuck to it. How can the oil be sluggish if its been changed so many times since new.

Question: all these parts ect, did they really needed to be replaced was that really the issue or we still don't know what it really is from day 1

Dealers been great to me by the problem has never been resolved

Who will buy this car now with this oil consumption issue, nobody!

Hi, I have the oil consumption issue as well. Bought a CPO 2010 A4 at 41,228Km. I did the testing and now the final test indicated 0.15L/100km which they said is within the normal range. I had paid 50$ plus tax to have this done since it has a CPO warranty. Is this ok? I think its BS that they sell the car knowing I will have the problem.

Please send me information regarding the law suit. Thanks.
