A4 as a family car?

A4 as a family car?
I am in the market for a new sedan and I have always liked the A4. Before kids I had some more "interesting" cars, but just before my first child was born I bought a Honda Accord. Nice car, just not very exciting. I am close to pulling the trigger on a 2010 A4, but I worried the backseat might be a little small for two kids under 8.
So any out there carting kids around in their A4?

I had am 6 3" and i can have a person thats about 5 5" sitting behind me and for the kids under 8 the back seats are defiantly not too small. I wouldn't worry about that. I have 98 a4 and its smaller then the 2010 and it should fit everybody just fine.

Re: A4 as a family car?
Not sure about the 2010 Audi but i have the B6 A4 Avant and ive gone on 1500km road trips with the trunk full of stuff, my friend in the passenger seat and our girls in the back and it was just fine. Plenty of room for average sized people.
i am not a family man yet but ive used it to go fishing, hunting, road trips etc etc and it handles everything with comfort!!
my 2cents worth!

Re: A4 as a family car?
I have a 2001 a4 and my only gripe is the small backseat.
I am 6'2 and have two children under 5. When they have their booster seats in the back their feet touch the front seats.
So maybe without the booster seats, kids under 8 should be fine.
As for adults, it is a bit tight. I would safely say the 2001 model is not good for hauling four adults around, but the 2010 might be better. I assume that the cars have gotten a little bigger over the years.
My 4 cents.

Re: A4 as a family car?
The back of the A4 (B6 here) seems a bit tighter than other German small family cars to me. On the other hand it has a really big trunk.
I would hardly sit behind my seat as I've long legs. A smaller adult might. Behind my wife is another story, there's plenty of space. We did short trips with 1 kid in a booster seat + 4 adults in the car, one of which was a pregnant woman and that was quite comfortable for everyone given the short distance ; a long trip would be a different story.
