Lightbulb 2009 Fog lights ?

Well, although it might have been for a contrast in maximizing the "spectrum" of the light source - or what not - I still think they look pretty ugly, those yellowish-factory fog lights on our 09 A4...

I'd like to change them, but I'm having a pretty hard time finding what to do...

According to many, the H.I.D might just bring problems, because it's causing too much heat in the enclosed fog light.

on the other hand, the LED, don't drag enough power - making them not coming on, and/or displaying an error message onboard.

I've seen some MTEC h11 bulbs, but they only come in 4350k, or 4750k.

When I look at online pictures of the 09 model, the factory LED lights under the bi-xenon, look white, but I must say that they seem more bluish on my car ( Is that normal!?), and so - I don't know which ones, or if there's any other, better, brand in which I should look into?

Thanks for the help guys.

I'd say the bluish nature of the LEDs is normal. They're about 4800K temp whereas the factory bi-xenon bulbs are only 4300K. I was running 5000K HIDs for a bit, and they matched better, but at times I felt they just a tad bluer than the LEDs and thus I came up with the 47-4800K temp.

I've tried some xenon match bulbs from crappy tire, turned out to be almost the same colour as factory. There's a few guys on Audizine.com running Hoen Xenonmatch H11 Halogen bulbs with great colourmatching success. I've been contemplating HID as well, probably not going to do it. I'm actually thinking of making these fogs useful and pop in some 3000k or yellow for when it's actually foggy out. Been in a B8 with yellow fogs and it actually makes a big difference. Good luck!

nice, thanks a bunch for the info, I'll definately look into it. I just got my Tuner Domes LED license plate lights ... they're a MUST. Damn.

I had installed my 3k Hids on my Foglights since the first week I got my 2010 B8 and looks awesome. You are right about the error codes.. All I do is : turn the foglights on and off if error code shows and eventually both will come on and stay on until i turn them off or turn off the car... I know there are adaptors out there that would bypass the computer "detection" but anyways as long as they work, they look awesome

I drive only with the Leds and Foglights on at night and cops dont really seem to mind since I have come across a few and none have said nothing ...yet.

why not just add a resistor so that it draws more current, and poof, no more error codes or lights that won't turn on?
