2009 a4 heavy oil consumption.. need help!
Hi all,
I am seeing that this is a common issue... I have an 09 a4 2.0T and it takes 1L every 500kms!!!!
Obviously the car has no warranty or anything at this point with 119k kms.
I went to the dealer and they said they need to do a 2 part test which costs total 1200$ and if they find a problem then they will as audi for a repair as a "good will".
What do I do guys?? should I go to a different dealer?? any sort of help/input would be good, thanks guys.

That's the problem, your out of warranty and Audi will charge you. Might want to consider going to an independant garage instead. However, i guess it doesn't hurt to try another dealership but don't expect anything.

Hey I'm actually on stage 3of the oil consumption test. The dealer Im going to they advice me that this is a well known problem for the 09-11 a4 so I'm glad they know the issue.. It's just to bad they can't just do a recall job for it.
What happened was the first test they check if no leaks then second test they will replace the breather valve and asked me to drive the car for a 1000klm and bring it back to check the oil... But that didn't fix anything they told me the car was burning 1.63L per 1000klm... So now comes to the third test I have an appointment with them on Feb 3 I'm assuming its the pistons but after I bring it to the dealer ship I'll let you know what fixes the problem so you don't have to do the run around And waste alot of money but luckily I'm still under warranty but I'll keep you posted exactly what could be the problem at least you have an idea where to look.

Hi all,
I'm having the Pistons replaced on my car next week. As I'm at almost 120K, should I have them also change the timing belt? Would that save me a bunch of labour?
The pistons are covered under the extended warranty I had (thank God!).
thanks,
rob

These motors are timing chain motors. While its in have your water pump checked for leaks because they are known to fail/leak
