2009 A4 Fuel Economy not matching advertised rates?

Re: 2009 A4 Fuel Economy not matching advertised rates?
I'm at 8000km and I'm averaging 8.4L/100km with the GIAC chip and I do some pretty spirited driving but I'm not in stop-go traffic as much. It didn't start off good but as it's breaking in, it's gotten much better.

at 4600km and I get 7.4-8.0L/100km hwy and 10-12L/100km City. So far, I'm pretty happy with how this car consumes.

I got my new car last week and only 300km, so still under the break in point and already having 8.0l/km average, highway and city.
Quite happy about it.

Better Fuel Economy: Prius or M3 - watch the vid
Have you guys seen this – what has better fuel economy an M3 or Prius? It’s not that scientific, and a little tongue and cheek, but does help highlight the driving style vs economy relationship. (cleary the prius is going to do better on fuel)
I love this show – so funny. They do a great RS6 Avant review as well

Re: 2009 A4 Fuel Economy not matching advertised rates?
I've put 2600 kms on my 2009 A4 2.0T 6sp manual ( mostly city) and according to my trip computer I've averaged 9.3 L per 100 km since new ( I haven't reset ) . I drive to maximize fuel economy ( to many points right now to have fun ). I've noticed an amazing difference between running it hard and taking it easy so I suspect if your having fun you pay a price . Leave your computer on aver fuel mileage 1 so ytou can watch your average economy per trip - should help you see the effect of different driving styles.

I agree with the driving style 110% having driven my dad's Infiniti Q45 (4.5L, 340HP/333ft-lb V8 ) for quite some time, I've ranged from 10.3L/100km - 16.8L/100km. Now, if all goes well, I get to pick up my 09 A4 tonight! We'll see how (bad) I do with that one..lol
