Default 09 A4 2.0T Quattro: strange whining noise when driver dr open
Took delivery yesterday!

When the Coming home lights are off and car quite, if I open the driver's door, there is a 2-3 second whining noise, very much like a small motor, more audible from the outside then the inside

I know it may not be a problem and I am reluctant to visit the dealer (sigh!)

Anyone can help?

Probably the fuel pump priming itself for starting the engine. Same thing happens with the B7 2.0TFSI engine; intent was to pressurize the fuel system so there isn't a delay when you crank the engine, especially on cold mornings - perfectly normal behaviour on the B7/B8.

Yes, I hear this same noise on my '06.
Perfectly normal.
