Newbie to Audi, thinking of getting 2012 A4 Quattro
Hi All,
First post here and complete newbie to Audi, but have always loved it from a distance. I'm considering getting a used A4 Quattro, preferably a couple years old, so maybe 2012.
I plan to put a car seat in the back for a 3-4 year old, so safety is paramount in the car.
I'll be honest and haven't done much research (yet!), but i always think that hearing any opinions/comments from actual owners is a good form of research.
That being said, anyone have any comments about this car (A4 Quattro), is it worth looking at a 2011? I'm *hoping* to get something in the 35k range, on the road..possible? Not possible?
Thanks in advance!

You will love the car. Audi makes a safer car: being a Paramedic here in Calgary Ive seen them in accidents and they do well.
Booster seat for the little Audi rider is a great idea but will be a bit tight due to limited space in the back seat.
Quattro with snow tires is best for winter safety.
Price I can't really comment on in your area. Welcome to the forums.

If you can drive stick, I have a 2012 6MT that I'm selling for just over 30k.
I am selling to get myself an S4 in the spring, and I have put the car away for the winter and am driving my beater now. If you can get down to the niagara region I have a private runway that you can test drive it on (it's off road-coverage insurance as of the 24th of Dec).
Car is black on black with great paint and interior... No accidents and I fuel only with Shell V-Power (ethanol free) and hand wash it. LED bi-xenon lighting and the rest of the toys.
PM me if you're interested and we can set something up.
Oh, and I can't post the link for the listing on Trader as I haven't posted enough yet, but can PM you. BTW, Quattro is kick *** in the snow!

I highly recommend the Audi for safety. 3 weeks ago my wife was driving our 2012 A4 - she got T-boned on the passenger side with out 4 month old in the back seat. 5 air bags went off and the car got spun around pretty good. Not a scratch, bump, or bruise on the baby or my wife. The car took 100% of the hit and did everything it was designed to do. This was my 4th Audi, and I am now on my 5th. Unless Audi ROYALLY screws up, i will be an Audi client for life.

ive got a 2012 A4 Quattro and i love it. if youre going for an automatic, 2011s and 2012s are good as they have the 8speed which is a gem. 2011s with extended warrantys are worth considering as well as 2012s; there is no difference whatsoever between the two years. the only thing i regret is not buying mine with all the bells and whistles. good luck!

Re: Newbie to Audi, thinking of getting 2012 A4 Quattro
Thanks all, i finally pulled the trigger and purchased a preowned 2011 A4 Quattro Premium , in the colour i wanted! Black-on-black! Pickup next week but really excited to own my first Audi. Inherited the last couple Audi Care treatments from the previous owner and now debating purchasing the additional Audi Care for $850..(yes, i've seen tons of threads on is it worth it or not).
Anybody know a reputable Audi mechanic in the West End? Brampton, Mississauga area that i can go to as an alternative to the dealer?

Was the dealership able to provide you complete service records? Whats the mileage on the car?
If you see any Oil1/Oil2 tests on the service history, there is a good chance that motor is burning oil. Secondly, change your oil no later than the 7-75K mark using a high quality 5w-40 syn. The Audi 15K interval is excessive...by that time, the oil is so contaminated with fuel, it will eat at seals/rings in the motor.
We are a shop over here by 400/Finch and here to help out members

I didn't ask for complete service records but I will when I pick up the car. Mileage is 40k and I have next Audi Care date this May.
PM me your shop details and even how much you charge roughly for an oil change
