Post Winter Mags for A4

So im looking for some winter mags and tires. tires arent the problem, its the mags that are driving me nuts. Apparently the audi dealership told me that i can not install ugly black mags due to the calipers. I could downsize from 17inch to 16inch but need to buy mags. Is it possible that they wouldnt fit?

My recommendation is to check craigslist. There are many sets of wheels that might fit your car on there. The B7 A4 has very large front calipers so be careful.

Malby is right ... some wheels will clear the large front calipers. There are some 16's that fit and I found inexpensive 16's ($135. Sport Edition wheels) from TireTrends that work well.

You can also check Wheel dealers in your area, FAST also make a few 16" rims that will fit the B7, I just actually purchased some for Winter, I got them for 125$. Also if you're shopping around, try not to get too high of an offset, as it will drive the Hub or Spokes of the wheel closer to the caliper, depending on the design, you're probably looking around low to mid 30s (mm).

Check them out...

I have the Stock 17" on my '06, and honestly I find these look better.

Thumbs up Re: Winter Mags for A4

Alright thanks guys. My other option is just buying winter tires on the 17s i have now and getting some 19s for next summer. If i drop a 1200$ on winter mags and tires, i might as well spend a little more and get crazy summer mags instead!

Best of luck, I'm in the same boat as you, as I'm planning on getting some 18s for the Summer. But I still opted to drop the size down to 16" and get Winter Rims and Tires, as opposed to putting Winters on the Stock 17s, as the cost for either options was nearly the same, around the 1000$ mark.

I just opted for this for budget purposes as I'm a little tight, this way summer comes around, if budget is still tight, I can just slap on the stock 17s back, (there's still plenty of rubber, just no enough for winter), but if budget allows here comes some spanking new 18" OZ.

Anyways, just sharing my thoughts, use them or not, ultimately it's your choice, you know your situation better than any of us.

Later, and again good luck.
