Urgent help - winter wheels
I screwed up, I bought a set of second 7x16 45 ET Audi wheels for winter wheels, and had tires installed but they don't clear the front brakes on my A4 3.2 S-line!
What 16" wheel fits the S-line? and
Can I add a spacer to use the existing set of wheels?
If so, where can I get some quickly (I'm in Ottawa)?
Cheers...the dumbass who didn't check his wheels properly

Re: Urgent help - winter wheels
Get a bigger set of tires. Less space for the brakes means more snow/dirt getting in there. In the end you may very well wear down your brakes faster. Which will cost you money in the end.
Stick with 17" tires sizes. Those Audi Engineers put them on for a reason.

As I stated in the original post, They are 16x7J Audi OEMs. I was told by the dealership that I could (and recommended) put 215/55/16's on instead of of the stock 18's. After putting out for the wheels and new 16" winters , getting a new set is the last option, if I can't find a solution.

Re: Urgent help - winter wheels
the narrower tires will be great in winter. Regarding spacers, you've got some time due to the crazy weather. If you cant find used spacers from one of the Audi enthusiast sites, you can buy them new online and ship to the UPS store in Ogdensburg. This will save time and money and then take the 45 minute drive to pick them up. email me if you want more info ...
Cheers !

EDIT: ECS has 5 mm with bolts for $65. and 10 mm with bolts for $100.

Re: Urgent help - winter wheels
Hey KLD, take a look on your passenger door pillar ("B" post) and look for a sticker. It will list the sizes of tires/wheels that your car is originally designed to use. I have a B6 and it came stock with 215/55/16 but for winter can run 195/65/15. I ended up using my 16's for snow wheels (they were already a bit worn looking) and got some 17's for summer tires!

Re: Urgent help - winter wheels
I don't think 16's work on the B7 models. The offset you mentioned is the same as the stock 17's that come on the B7s so I don't think that is the problem. I think you need to go back to the 17" wheel.
I'm not positive, I'm just working from the little bit of info I could find and logic. Maybe somebody with experience with these cars could help.
If what I'm saying is true you should go chew out whatever audi dealership told you they would fit.

Gotta agree with Rusty. The dealership that you bought them from should be able to help you out with this. And since Stevelev says 16's fit on his B8, maybe you have a loose caliper or something. That happened to me with our old Windstar; lost a caliper bolt and it would clunk with every brake application (didn't go far before I figured that one out! Scary!)
