Default Unrecognized Warning Symbol

2006 Audi A4 2.0T

The attached warning symbol comes on intermittently over the last few months.

Associated with a Beep

Only cleared by turning off ignition switch.

All lights working - no sign of problems with the car.

Dealer unhelpful.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I believe that is the symbol for the Headlight Range Control, that is the auto leveling feature on your xenons. I've actually had that come on for a few seconds on my 09 A4 after a ridiculous bump on the highway. The system probably recalibrated and has been working fine ever since.

It definately looks headlight related. Doesn't the owners manual say anything?

Hmmm ... could it be the reminder to change the headlight fluid ??

Dipped headlight, you need to vag-com it and re-program it.

Oddly enough I've had this problem too in my B7 A4. It says that there's a problem with the left dipped headlight, and causes that headlight to get switched off. To switch it back on and make the warning go away (?) you can just restart the car. It's the sort of electrical gremlin I'm a little suspicious of...

Sorry not very clear on the message, it needs to be re-adjusted and programed while it is being adjusted for this to go away if it is only a minor issue. If it is something else could be an ignitor as well, but i am 99% positive it just needs to be readjusted in the xenon menu.
