no tint's allowed for the front side windows and windshield.
i have 35% all around, located in vancouver. I've never been pulled over because of my tinted windows.

Tinting the front is illegal but if I never mentioned it and you saw my car you would never know. That is how light in colour the 50% Huper film is.
In fact the tint job is down so well that you can't even see where the film ends.
If you guys want to be schooled on tint call Masa @ Advanced Tint in Coquitlam.
As an aside... tinting the front window is illegal as it hinders rescue people from smashing the glass apart to save you in an accident. I just accepted the fact that if they have to get to me by smashing the front windhsield apart I'm going to be pretty messed up already. Also I'm very particular about my eyesight and I wanted full UV protection for my eyes so I had the windshield done. If you think about it, the windshield is the largest windows in your car but you leave it exposed? Then you sit right behind it and expose yourself to the sun and UV as well? That's nuts!

My car is tinted with Huper Optik as well, and front side are tinted with Huper Optik SECH films which blocks even more UV and heat while maintaing light passage.
Mine was done at Smartfilms in Richmond, contact Justin. Overall great job! Huper is expensive but well worth it. One of these days I am also getting the front windshield done.

With respect to UV protection, I'm pretty sure that the dangerous UV rays don't pass through glass ...
