throwing in towel on 2006 A4
Hi guys. I've been browsing this site for a while. It has been extremely helpful so you have my thanks.
Need some help getting Audi's attention regarding my A4 as I can no longer keep it. It currently has 155 000kms. I bought it used from the dealer in 2010 with only 24000kms on it.
This particular car has been breaking since the 30 000 km mark. The following is a list of the inordinate part failures:
Bluetooth unit (at 30 000kms), fuel pressure sensor, multiple problems with leaking lines, purge valves, trunk latch, turbo re-circ. valve, water pump, ever-malfunctioning headlights (I've been told this is an electrical problem that's difficult/impossible to fix), 2 engine coils, Turbo with manifold ($2500), cam shaft and cylinder head ($5000). The latest failure was of a bolt for a sprocket causing a chain to fail which broke the oil pump resulting in no oil circulation through the engine. The housing, chain, bolt, gear, and oil pump were replaced ($5500).
Just this afternoon the right passenger-side brake has locked and it's going to the shop via tow truck for the 6th time in last 2 years. I have now spent more time waiting in shops for repairs this last 12 months than I have with all of my other cars combined over their entire lives (I drive vehicles to 300000kms -- have done this to 3 other vehicles before this one). The hilarious thing is that I use this vehicle professionally and have had the top A4 mileage on fuelly for the make and model so it's not that I'm not wrecking with driving style or by racing it or anything.
Anyways I've had NO luck with audi customer care after the turbo broke at 120ish000... recently the dealer seemed to empathize with me and gave me the president's email address but the address doesn't work so I'm not sure if he's just pushing me off.
Does anybody have any ideas??

Wow this is a horror story. There has got to be something here from Audi of Canada or Audi of NA to intervine and take a look. I would google for the president of Audi you can find his email online and email directly to him. I have never heard of this many issues with vehicles. Do we have a lemon law in Canada? Anyone know?

Re: throwing in towel on 2006 A4
well I did a TON of research and what's happened/happening with my car is not usual.
I was trained as a professional driver in Ottawa with OPP and CSIS and that facility ONLY used Audi A4 or A6 vehicles... I think 4 of them in total, and the 2 A4s were way over 250 000kms and had nothing like my vehicle has. It took me a few years to be able to afford one and I was terribly pleased over the first 30 000km (55 000km total) but man oh man this vehicle took a nose-dive at about 70 000km... hard.
most of the major problems (cam, cyclinder head, turbo, oil pump and housing, rear axle) have been between 120 000 and 155 000.

There was a recall on the fuel pressure sensor and the camshaft if it was related to the cam follower. You should check if they charged you and if they should of passed it on the campaigns.

well $10 000 out of my pocket on this piece of crap in the last 12 months (and that's just for inordinate part failures, not normal wear and tear), $10 000 out of Audi's pocket from kms 80 000-12 0000 and they finally called me to say they are happy to give me
DRUM ROLL
1 grand off a new audi
Customer Care is a F---ing joke.
So now I have a car that I can't drive and can't sell. It cost me 32 000 cash, with 10 000 put in in this last year. It's been towed 4 times in the last 60 days.
good luck to the rest of you
