S Line Package

S Line Package
So, I'm looking at 07 and 08 Avants and know I want an S-Line for the factory sports suspension.
Is there an easy way to tell if it's a "true" S-Line with the sports suspension rather than an S-Line "appearance" package type of thing? Actually, is there such a thing as a car with S-Line bits, but not necessarily with the sports suspension?
Saw a couple of 08's with the quad spoke steering wheels. I know the 07 S-Lines came with tri-spoke steering wheels...
Thanks for any advice.

Re: S Line Package
You need to do some searching of past threads in this forum and some of the other Audi sites. All 2008 A4's have the S-Line exterior package. Factory Sports suspension can be determined by their colour - look underneath and it is red/orange.
Full S-Line models will have factory sports suspension unless an owner has done some aftermarket replacement. The best indicator for a full S-Line is the S-Line molding on all the door sills - open the door and it will be really obvious.
Other signs for full S-Line are the RS4 Metal optic pedals on a manual, 3 spoke steering wheel with perforated leather, perf leather RS4 shift ****, satin finish trim in the interior, 18" rims those are sometimes upgraded by an owner.

Thanks so much for the information.

Re: S Line Package
Thanks - we love our wagon; great to drive to/from Whistler.
Bike Rack is from Thule; hitch is from Curt Mfg. There is a 4 bike version but it's only supposed to be used with a 2" hitch whereas mine is a 1 1/4" hitch. If you were only adding kids bikes the weight loading might be OK. Best to check that out with Thule or your rack installer. Kids bikes aren't that heavy so I suspect you'd be OK but...

Re: S Line Package
Hello,
I just bought in Feb 2011 an A4 2.0T 2008, S-Line package.
Yes 2008s come with the S-Line package.
It took me a while to get my car because I was researching a lot. I wanted to understand what I am getting. I also had someone from the dealership explain to me everything.
The true S-Line has the following:
- 3 spoke steering wheel
- Black interior
- S-line exterior package (side moldings or skirts, front and rear lip)
- Lower suspension by 20mm
- S-Line door sills
However, the 2008s would confuse you. You see, I have mine with all the S-Line features including the s-line door sills. And no they are not added on. But my interior is tan and my steering wheel is 4 spoke and not 3. That is because mine is not a true S-Line but instead it's a Special Edition 2008.
Confusing eh? Now you would understand why I didn't get mine right away.
Hope that helped.

Re: S Line Package
If your suspension is stiffer than the stock, it's possible a previous owner upgraded but did not lower. Look underneath and see what colour your shocks are - red/orange means you have the Audi sports suspension.

Re: S Line Package
Hello a4audi4fun,
I checked my suspension and I am not sure if I will be explaining what I saw properly.
My shocks are black but in the middle of the spring there is an orange tube. I dunno much about shocks so excuse my ignorance.
Thank you.

Re: S Line Package
That would suggest you have the sports suspension but not the rest of the sports package. If you have factory rims, are they 17" or 18". You also also look in the manual or the wheel well of the spare tire and grab all the option codes. There are sites on the internet that can help you decode them all. other option is to phone Audi, give them your VIN and ask for a full printout of all your options.
