Questions about a used car purchase
So I found a used 2008 A4, It's an S-line with the titanium package and manual transmission. The car was a lease return in California. The guy that is selling it imported it into Alberta.
The current odometer reading is just shy of 28000, now I am trying to determine how I can tell for sure that this is kilometers and not miles. The guy tells me he had it reprogrammed at the dealer.
I ran a carproof report which came back clean as well.
Also, is there anything I should be concerned about with this car? It looks mint. I plan to take it in for a once over at the dealer before I lay down the cash though.

If the odometer is in km then it will say km and if it is in miles it will say miles. I had someone with a Vag-Com change the display of my A6 from miles into km and from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Make sure the vehicle has a pre-purchase inspection. If you're not mechanically inclined then looking at it for 15 minutes on a lift will waste your time.
I must say it's kind of funny that you would mention if there are any concerns you should have about the vehicle. If you do your research on an independent forum I am sure you can find the results you're looking for. Keep in mind you have given us zero details on the vehicle.

I would opt to have someone look it over but as far as issues with that car there are none that come to mind. maybe search the forums or google common known issues with 2008 Audi A4

Man I wish someone here in Vancouver would do Vag-Com scanning for free. Oh well, I might just buy one myself later on...
I don't know what your experience is with Audis or German cars in general. but these Audis are built very well. The only downside is the parts cost is high and the maintenance routine can be challenging. But keep in mind that it won't matter whether it's a Chevy Malibu or a Lamborghini Gallardo. A car is a machine and if it was abused by the previous owner or the maintenance has been neglected then it will break down.

Re: Questions about a used car purchase
Thanks for the replies guys, being a US import was a bit of a concern in that I wasn't sure if the CPO warranty was transferable. I wanted to be sure that there wasn't some way of fooling a potential buyer by displaying a false mileage reading but after having a closer look at it I see that it does indicate the odometer reading is in kilometers. Thanks for the simple answer LR Audi.
I may take you up on that, I am having a pre-purchase inspection done at Royal Oak Audi just for my own peace of mind. The car is still under warranty for a few months so any surprises should be covered.
