I was wondering if anyone here had this problem before and could they fix it without dealer ?

My driver window regulator went down on me - window will not go up anymore. Took to repair shop and they said I need new part from Audi - ok. All being said work and parts they game me 500.00 bill. I said thank you very much just put the window up so I can drive away

Now I have been looking around and would like to know if this is possible to do myself. This guy had something like as well and he got it himself

I'm also having a similar issue with my 05 A4 on the passenger side window...

Right now I'm just focused on trying to get the window all the way up so I can get around, any1 know if this is possible doing it manually if the window is all the way down?

Also, EUUA, how much did it cost for you to just get the window up? Did the repair shop take off the door panel and the window frame to do this? Or was it only the door panel that had to be removed?

Hello mate,

No I have tried to get window manual myself and I could not. Dropped car off at repair in the morning and asked them to take a look. They called me around 11am and said it will cost this much I just told them make sure window is up so I can get around.

As far as I know they did take door apart in order to get window up - wanted to charge me 160.00 for the job and I said WTF. Told them no more then 50.00 but we agree on 60.00 - all prices are negotiable.

If you not sure what is wrong with your there is a place in Mississauga that I would recommended to go and see. it is on Matheson and Creekbank ( just pass Dixie) - called Automotive Sunroof-Customcraft (ASC) Inc.

They will give you estimate for free and may even put window upright for you as well. I have used them for my wife's VW issue - good guys.

Hey,

Just wanted to come back and let everyone know that I have resolved my issue and the window works like brand new!

I ended up buying the regulator from the dealership for around $200 and my buddy and I installed it ourselves, saving $300 in labour costs. It took approximately 8 hours due to the fact that we went very slow and made sure not to mess anything up as the two of us were noobs.

If anyone else out there is interested in installing themselves, follow the DIY guide below.
