Default Is this normal? New car owner here...

Okay, so I just purchased a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro. When I drove home today and I parked in the garage, there was smoke coming out of both exhaust pipes after I shut off the ignition. It was a little bit of smoke but it went on for about 5 - 10 minutes. Is this normal?

This is my first car I purchased and I just don't remember that happening to my dads car I was driving before.....

Please give me some advice, freakin' out haha!

I would not consider smoke to be normal no. However given that it is colder now I would have to ask, are you sure that it's not just steam?

I am guessing this is not smoke per say.

It is common for an exhaust to leak exhaust for a few minutes after being parked. My buddies GN used to do it all the time.

Since it is really cold outside now this time of year, it does not sound like anything major to me. I see my car leak some exhaust every once in a while, I think that is pretty common, and nothing to worry about for now.

I don't think it's anything harmful... I can't see black/blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe 5-7 minutes after the car has been shut off...

Steam my friend... nothing out of the ordinary, just Canadian climate...

No, I think you can definitely relax, and chalk this one up to experience! Hey, it's better to ask than to be running around with a sick car, making it worse.
