Help - Audi Canada 2006 Cam Follower Warranty
I hope this is an alright place to post.
I have a 2006 B7 A4 with 151000 km on it. I recently took it to my local shop to get the timing belt done. While they started taking everything apart, they noticed the Cam Follower was totally worn. There were no codes thrown and the car drove fine.
I took it to the local Audi dealer for them to perform diagnostics. They confirmed it was ruined. However, it turns out the 10 year period expired this summer (car was sold June 2005), and as a result, Audi Canada won't warranty the work (it was a couple months expired).
Here's the issue I'm having - I'm well within the mileage range (150k vs 192k upper limit). I'm relatively very close to the warranty period. The engine is effectively ruined now at 151k km and Audi doesn't want to stand by their work. This makes no sense to me - I've taken excellent care of the car, followed all the maintenance required, and even changed oil double the frequency required by Audi.
Moreover, for the cam follower to be that destroyed (and all the related damage), surely the issue must have emerged prior to the expiration of the warranty period. Because the car did not throw any codes I am now on the hook for what will be an enormous cost?
Finally, the only code the car has thrown in the past couple of years was P310B. I actually brought it to the Audi Dealer wondering if that was a cam follower issue, but they said it was not related. Is this true?
Has anyone else experienced this year? I am probably one of the first batch of cars to exceed the time portion of the warranty, but maybe others have experience with Audi in this type of situation. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Help - Audi Canada 2006 Cam Follower Warranty
I had the same issue, Owners of Audi vehicles have to take a stand on the inferior quality we are getting in Canada, UNITY IS STRENGTH, let us all complain to Audi North America, about the defects, from cam follower, TCM and the list of defects these vehicles come with and the cost so much to repair
