buying a used 2.0T Quad.....should I worry about Oil buring?
Hey Guys,
So i'm about to pick up a used 2007 A4 2.0t Quattro. I'm just worried about all the oil burning problems I read about. That and the coil replacements.....
I've seen and driven the car and it is in great shape, however its hard to tell at first glance about these issue;;;;;;I guess what i'm wonderign is:
1. how can I make sure the oil buring is not an issue
2. same with the coil packs
3. any general issues with a car I should be on the look out for that are common.
Thanks!

coil pack recall was a recall and should be covered.
and burning oil is common with turbo engines. if you do your oil changes ever 16,000kms like normal schedule maint then around 8000-9000k ya will have to add 1/2 ltr on average. but if you do drive it as a spirited driver then prob good idea to do a full oil change ever 9000km

bump what GeneKam said.
8k should be your limit if u really want to take care of your car. 5-8k is my regular ideal. In general, to keep my engine clean 90% of the time.

I'm with GeneKam as well. Change the oil ever 5 - 7.5K and you'll be fine. The manual says 15K for my oil changes and I think that's nuts.

I just bought one, an a4 2006 quattro, i bought it privately but taking it to the dealer to get it's first service. I had the the car checked meticulously before i bought it, and it was in great shape. hopefully the dealer can tell me the same. But we all know how dealers can be. wish me luck.
