Buying an A4 with bodywork dents
Hi all,
I'm looking at a 2006 A4 2.0t with about 90k on it, dealer service history, one owner, private sale.
Looking at paying $13k.
Unfortunately on going to look at the car there are a couple of dents that detract from the appeal of the car. I've sent pictures to some dent repair guys and been quoted $300 but 2 said not repairable. Body shop quote $700 for "as new" repair.
It's a real shame about the dents. Does it sound liked to much hassel, setting me up for resale issues down the line? Or should I just go for it and try getting the dents fixed?
Thanks

Re: Buying an A4 with bodywork dents
For a 2006 a couple of minor dents are ok...of course on mine they drove me insane and I had to fix them lol
I do work in the industry and here's my advice:
I personally had amazing sucess with PDR (paintless dent removal) it costed me $200 for 2 small dents/door dings. One reason of the sucess is that the dents were not very big and most importantly the paint was not cracked...
The other alternative is a body shop who will have to repaint the panel and sometimes do a (blend in) with a total compound/glaze/wax of the car in order to bring the shine more even...
Doing so will really improve the quality of your paint from years of neglect especially with our winters, salt, acid rain, uv...etc.
