broken brake disc
Hello,
Can anybody help me, please?
Last night I was driving my AUDI A4 2007. At some point, I pushed the brake pedal all the way down, the car stop by making a tac-tac-tac sound similar to the sound when the ABS is on and then, when I started to accelerate the car the tac-tac-tac sound persisted.
My husband removed the front wheel last night and noticed the brake disc was broken. He told me that this was a very unusual and dangerous situation. Has anyone run through the same problem? I would expect Audi to make more reliable brake discs.

Re: broken brake disc
I've heard of that happening before but I can tell you it would be due to poor maintenance and a poorly constructed part. I've never heard of an OEM brake rotor actually braking. I have taken vehicles to track session and never had a brake failure. A brake inspection would show cracks that would form and across the rotor that would lead to separation, and even then it is unlikely. You need quality parts installed and regular maintenance and you should be fine.
