Default Bi-xenon bulbs and ballast replaced under warranty

Since the weather turned cold, the left headlight on our B7 3.2 S-Line has been intermittently flickering, giving a dipped headlight error, or simply going out. Usually simply turning the lights off and on fixed it.

We were waiting for the next service to take it to the dealer, but finally got fed up and made a specific appointment after receiving the notice from Audi Canada about extending the warranty on the bulbs.

The appt was a waste of time, because they couldn't make it happen because it was during the recent warm spell. We let it go asking them what do we have to do to prove it to them, knowing full well it meant waiting for to happen and driving to the dealership immediately to drag a service advisor out to see it. We decided to play along for a little while.

Got a call today saying that they reviewed the situation and because we are "good customers" the dealership is going to go ahead and replace both left and right bulbs and ballasts. Whether the dealership is covering the cost or it is really going to be covered under warranty is none of my concern, but appreciate that they actually called us back and are going ahead with both sides instead of blowing us off until it happens again.

Glad to hear the dealership fixed the issue. You could have taken pictures showing one headlight working and the other one not, and also showing the error on the main control dish.

Glad to hear MM took good care of you. My money is on them successfully passing the costs on to Audi Canada.

maxaudi - I hadn't thought of taking photos, but now it is a moot point

Stevelev - agreed, I am sure that MM will be passing on the costs, but kudos for making the effort to do so. It would have been easy for them to stick to the story and do nothing. I think that this is a case where being calm and patient paid off. I am sure if we had been angry and demanding they wouldn't have done anymore. They are even going to pick and drop off the car since my wife is laid up at home after foot surgery.
