Default APR k04

Hey guys, I'm about to pull the trigger on a K04 but the APR site says 2005-2006. Anyone running it on an '07?

They are telling me to get them the code for me ECU to be certain but I can't find the one they want, and at -20 taking the cover off is not easy so I was just trying to pull it back enough to see.

If I have some glimmer of hope I'll make the buy and pray.

I can't answer your question but if you have VAG-COM or know someone that does the ECM part number can be found easily.

Ah decided to take a chance and pulled the trigger any way.

I intended to let it sit in the garage for a while but I'm under the impression this thing will be really stealth and can run with the stock exhaust. So it might go in sooner than later. I just like my warranty

This kind of made me think a little about the tune. APR claims 318hp but it says it was done with a full exhaust and intake although you can run this without. If they can keep KR down to acceptable levels with stock exhaust and intercooler (assuming they run the same tune) are you really noticing the potential power increase with upgraded components?

If not maybe this kit can be made more interesting than it lets on.

Here is a link showing 0kr with a testpipe only:

APR K04 Kit for Audi B7 A4 2.0T FSI

isn't there a slight difference in the engine between the 05-06 and 07-08? The 05, 06 are TSI but 07, 08 is TFSI?

Not sure what the difference was... I thought from reading it was the ECU not the motor itself. Hmmm. Well fingers crossed.

You will have to keep us posted on the progress. I am sure there are plenty of members who will learn from your experience. Can't wait to hear about the performance difference.

Arrived. Looks good.

Now if only some one local had a stock turbo floating around to compare with?

Not sure when this bad boy will go on the car though. Need to find a HPFP at a reasonable price.

Depending on how stealth this thing looks compared to the K03 will decide when I install this puppy. Since it sounds like it'll run on the stock exhaust I think I'll go that way for the first little while.

I'll have to dyno this thing in spring I guess.

Anyone able to help me identify this turbo to make sure it is indeed a K04?
