'06 3.2 timing tensioner problem
Hey all, I've 99% diagnosed a noise problem at start up to a chain tensioner issue.
There is a distinctive "rattle" which my dad agrees is one of the chains, after about 5-20 seconds of this rattle the noise goes away entirely and only happens after the car has been sitting for a long time (usually just overnight 10+ hours)
we figure the tensioners (one or more) is loosing pressure after sitting for a while because they work with oil pressure is my understanding?
does anyone have any DIY's of diagnosing or looking at the tensioners without taking the engine out? the lower tensioners I think can only be done with the engine out, but the upper ones (cam tensioners) should be accessible from the hood correct?
thanks in advance!
