What is this weird sound on all A4's i've driven?
So a few days ago I brought my B7 A4 to the dealer. I have underground parking where I live, so any noises just sort of bounce around the concrete walls thus making noises louder.
I digress.
Basically, after the car is cold, you start it up. The first and only the first shift from 1 to 2 you get a "click" - like a branch snapping. But it's not the tranny because I had a CVT as a loaner car which did the same thing. Once I got my own car back because they couldn't reproduce the issue, I used the shifttronic and kept it in 1st gear, I'd still get the "click", but this time, there was no shift.
Any ideas here? - my old Infiniti did the same thing?....

It's supposed to be the Anti-Locks re-aligning or calibrating... Not sure the term. My B6 and B7 did it. If you roll slowly you'll hear it...it sounds line you just rolled over a big chunk of ice or something like that. It happens after a few rotations of the wheels. it's normal.
