speed display

Re: speed display
Hadn't heard of a speed display for the computer screen in the instrument cluster. Have used VCDS to enable a speed display on my Symphony II+ radio; don't know if that can be done with the RNS-E Nav screen or not.

Re: speed display
I've searched for something like this, please tell or give me a link.
If you have the trip computer option (buttons on the wiper stalk) it can display real time MPGs and averages and stuff, I know the same gen A3 has this option to display speed.

Re: speed display
This works on my MY2008 A4 Avant with a Symphony II+ radio.
On the radio module (#56), Modify Adapation Channel #2 to a value of 1. Then from the menu option on the radio, select speed and then change the setting to ON. Replaces the radio frequency display with the current speed.

Re: speed display
did you upgrade to Symphony 2, or was it stock on your car. Silly question, how do I know what symphony I have.
The screen in my car (between the clusters) shows me the average speed, consumption of gas (average and actual), distance travelled, driving time etc... but not the speed.
I am not sure, but I think the 2008 TT that I tested had a speed display, and the screen looked exactly like mine. i think they have different softwares.

Re: speed display
Symphony II+ was standard on my 2008 A4. MY2007 was the first year with the Symphony II+ radio. If you have a cassette player, then you have a Symphony II. The II+ also supports MP3 CD's.
BTW - The speed display I talk about shows up on the radio screen, not on the DIS cluster display.

You can find someone in your geography with the VCDS cable and software from the link above or visit http://www.ross-tech.com and purchase the cable and software license from them or one of their dealers. That software/cable allows you to make changes to the configuration parameters of the various modules on your car.
