Bluetooth
Hi Everyone,
Can somebody give me an idea on how to set up the bluetooth for my A4? I have a blackberry curve. I turn the bluetooth on and press the botton on my steering wheel, it's not recognizing the phone. It asks me to speak a command. I can program phone numbers but it's not giving me any connection with the phone.
Help!

Re: Bluetooth
Hi Rachel.
I just got my car a week ago and I love my bluetooth in the car. I have a Blackberry 8830 so I'll guide you. Did you marry the phone to your car? If not then you have to do that first.
Go to your blackberry setup under Bluetooth go new devices, it should find the AUDI device then enter the passcode 1234 which is default.
Then the functions will work. Once married together pressing MODE button (Left side) will upload your phone directory to your car.

Re: Bluetooth
You also have a limited amount of time to do all this once you turn the ignition on. If it does not work, shut the car down, remove the key and then insert key and start the car and try over again.

Re: Bluetooth
I have the Blackberry World Edition. It is paired with the car. What is interesting is that the entire Blackberry contact list is copied to the car itself. So when you press the "Mode" button, you can scroll through the directory in the Driver display.

Re: Bluetooth
I have my Motorola phone married to my car, but the phone book never copied. I understand not all phones work perfectly with this bluetooth, but is there a way to try and get the phone book to the car, or am I out of luck.

Re: Bluetooth
I asked my dealership about the phone book auto-import and they called audi and they said that there's a difference between the 09 A4's software with and without the Navi package (if I recall). You get the MMI when you get Navi which is different software from the non-navi systems.
Differences that I've noticed:
- The phone book is not auto-imported; you have to manually import each contact, or you can import them all at once as well. Importing contacts basically copies the contact to your car system/memory. You can still choose not to import anything and just just go into the phone list on your phone via the interface. Importing just allows the contacts to be in the car so you can do a few other things with them (like add an address for the Navi).
- I also noticed (and brought it up with Audi) that if you have Navi included, the radio volume does not auto-decrease when you put the car in reverse. When I drove another 09 A4, without navi the radio volume decreases when you backup so that you can hear the beeps from the back sensors, but on mine the volume doesn't change at all.
Anywho, hope this info helps.

Re: Bluetooth
BTW: I don't have the MMI version ...just the SYMPHONY radio.

Re: Bluetooth
Last time I got into my car, I started it, then pressed the mode button right away. When I drove away, it displayed "Please Wait", then after a couple of minutes came back with "No Entries". I just have a feeling my phone isn't properly compatible with this car. Not really the biggest deal in the world either.

Re: Bluetooth
bump.
Hey guys just purchased my A4 2007 w. Nav and Bluetooth.
Haven't had a chance to "Sync" my BB storm 2. Do I HAVE to have my phone searching for devices as soon as I power the car up?
I can't seem to find the AUDI device whatsoever when I the TEL function and it tells me the phone isn't connected.
Thanks
Ray

Re: Bluetooth
You have about 2 minutes after you start it up according to the manual (and from what I've noticed as well). It should be named something like: Audi UHV #### (where #### are different numbers), at least on the B8's.
