Re: yo
I didn't see that you had a thread going. You might want to try a different title to get more people to look... anyway, if you haven't read any of my other suggestions here it is:
-No such thing as a gasket on the timing belt cover
-Probably leaking from your water pump seal and then out you tb cover
-If you have to do the water pump you should most definitely do your timing belt if it hasn't been done yet. with the 1.8t its best to do it around 100,000kms. To do the waterpump you've already done 80% of the labour for replacing the tb.
-The temp gauge bouncing is your temp sensor go to a dealer and have them fix it Under the extended warranty.
-As for getting the timing belt and waterpump done, I hear that Blitzkrieg is a really good shop in vancouver for audi's and whenever your dealing with audi's it's best to go to someone that knows. You'll get better quality work, the right parts, and sometimes better labour costs because they know what they are doing and it takes them less time.

oh 1move...lol
but g-ride...i have the exact same car and it was around the time when i first got the car...so like a dumb*** i took it to the stealership...they charged me about $1500 to fix a gasket leak...apparently any reputable shop could have fixed this problem for ~$700...you live in BC so I can't be of much help refer you to any shops but it seems like rusty_67 has already done that for you
Good luck buddy
