Where are our A4 owners?

Are the 1.8T engines pretty quick? I'm in the market for a S4, but am having a really hard time finding a decent one forsale. So I have been tempted to buy a A4 with the 1.8T and do some minor upgrades to it. Also, what would you suggest to do to the car in terms of minor performance upgrades? I would definatly be getting a 5spd if that helps any.

Please keep pics in sigs as small as possible.
Cheers and thanks for signing up!
Thank you! Hope this picture is not too big, I actually think it's too small.

That sig is the perfect size...
I have always loved the 1.8T engines...their performance number aren't the greatest, but they have a ton of low-end torque (something like 180 lbs-ft) at a really low RPM (1800-3000) so city driving is really enjoyable

awesome. Thanks for the information.
I am looking at getting a 2000-2001 A4 or S4. (B5??) I really don't know that much about audis. Right now I am driving a 93 bmw 325i, and since I work in real-estate I need a 4 door car for work. And since I am wanting to upgrade my car I started looking at the audis. They are a awesome looking car and I love the 4 door and AWD idea that audi has. Right now I'm just trying to do as much reasearch as possible on what to look for, and how much I am going to have to spend.

FYI, you can get a VW Jetta with the same 1.8T engine for a few thousand dollars less, the build quality / performance wont be quite as good, but I guess you could always use some of the money you saved on the car to get a engine chip and still have some cash left over for a vacation.
It's the same thing with me...Golf 1.8T or Jetta 1.8T or A4 1.8T
