Default Trouble with removing Crankcase hose

Hey guys,

I am having some trouble trying to remove the crankcase hose for my 2003 A4 1.8T. Anyone have any idea how to easily detach this ?

The black clamp uses Hose clamp pliers. Anyone trying to work on VAG vehicles without them - and I recommend having a pair of the remote-release ones as well - is in for some frustration

The silver clamp is permanent - you can just pry it off with a small slotted screwdriver, but be sure to use a suitable replacement upon reinstallation.

The black clamp is re-useable; the rest was answered in my previous reply. Starting to mess with that stuff (the PVC system, or any of the plastic lines) is asking for trouble - early to mid 2000s VAG vehicles have horrible plastics on them, and are very prone to failure. Chances are that, when disturbing that stuff, more of it will break. In many cases, I've seen the lines/fittings practically fall apart when you apply even slight hand pressure to them.

take plyers and rip off either of those clamps. Go to canadian tire and get new ones that you can screw on and off.
